| As long as I check, prepaid SIM card service is not still in use in Japan.(Nov. 24, 2005) Recently new mobile phones in Japan have SIM card in them, but phones and SIM cards are not sold separately yet. Instead of it, there are prepaid mobile phones. The price is from 3,800yen (about 30 USD). Of course you can charge and do international call. And also you may be abele to use global roaming service with your own mobile phone. Check your mobile phone company. Which is cheaper, prepaied phone or global roaming service?
